The V-League
The V League – Ventura County Youth Basketball Conference
Composed of the communities of Agoura Hills, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Newbury Park, Ojai, Simi Valley, Ventura, and Westlake, the Ventura County Youth Basketball Conference was begun many years ago to provide high level local competition for the best youth basketball players in the area.
The local Youth Basketball Organizations of these communities each appoint one or two Representatives to serve on the VCYBC Board, to organize play for winter and summer seasons every year. These volunteers begin the winter season in September, setting up the various boys and girls Divisions for competition that begins in early December and ends in mid February. Playoffs then follow, leading to Championship Games in each Division in late February or early March. The summer season begins in mid June and ends in late July.
The V League’s Boys Divisions consists of Boys 4th through 8th grades, and the Girls Divisions span 5th through 8th grades. All players are certified as to their age, grade, and residence at the beginning of the season, and coaches are selected by the community Representatives based on their knowledge of basketball and ability to work successfully with young boys and girls.
